Description
Boeing™ 307 Stratoliner Pan American Limited Edition Large Mahogany Model
Boeing derived the 307 Stratoliner from the B-17 bomber. It was both the first high-altitude commercial aircraft and the first four-engine airliner in domestic service. While the Stratoliner’s military origins lend it a hard-earned credibility, the planes on the inside couldn’t have been further apart.
Nicknamed the Rainbow, the Comet, and the Flying Cloud, the Stratoliner was anything but Spartan. Furnished by Marshall Fields, the interiors were as mid-century luxurious as a Manhattan penthouse. It’s no wonder Howard Hughes owned one. And if the Boeing 307 was cool, the three owned by Pan American were the coolest.
Relive the Golden Age of Aviation with this authentic, limited edition mahogany model of the Boeing 307 Stratoliner. Handmade by the finest craftsmen, it’s certain to add 1940s elegance to your home or office.
