Description
P-47D Thunderbolt as flown by Gabby Gabreski Mahogany Model
The P-47 Thunderbolt, also known as the “Jug”, was the largest, heaviest, and most expensive fighter aircraft in history to be powered by a single piston engine. The P-47 was one of the main United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) fighters of World War II, and served with other Allied air forces.
This specific P47 is painted in Gabby Gabreski’s paint scheme. Francis Stanley “Gabby” Gabreski was the top Polish American fighter ace in Europe during World War II, a jet fighter ace in Korea, and a career officer in the United States Air Force with more than 26 years of service.
This handcrafted model is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen with a wealth of detail and makes a great gift for any veteran, aviation enthusiast or history buff.
