Description
Space Shuttle Endeavour Orbiter OV-105 Limited Edition Large Mahogany Model
Space Shuttle Endeavour came into existence under somber circumstances. Congress authorized its construction in 1987 to replace Challenger, destroyed in a 1986 explosion that killed all seven crew members on board. Endeavour first launched in 1992. As a second-generation shuttle, it came with several important upgrades, most noticeably a drag chute for landing. Endeavour flew in 25 missions before retiring in 2011. You can see it at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.
