Description
T-28B Trojan USN Mahogany Model
The T-28 Trojan is a piston-engined military trainer aircraft used by the United States Air Force and United States Navy beginning in the 1950s. The T-28 was originally designed as a replacement for the AT-6 Texan, and was quickly adopted as a primary trainer by the USAF. After becoming adopted as a primary trainer by the USAF, the United States Navy and Marine Corps adopted it as well. The T-28 was phased out by the USAF in the early 1960s but continued to be used as a primary trainer by the Navy well into the early 1980s. Many T-28s were subsequently sold to private civil operators, and due to their reasonable operating costs are often found flying as warbirds today.
This specific T-28 model is painted in the US Navy paint scheme. This handcrafted model is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen with a wealth of detail and makes a great gift for any veteran, aviation enthusiast or history buff.
