A1H Skyraider USAF Mahogany Model

The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was an American single-seat attack aircraft that saw service between the late 1940s and early 1980s. The Skyraider had a remarkably long and successful career, even inspiring its straight-winged, slow-flying, jet-powered successor, the A-10 Thunderbolt II. The piston-engined Skyraider was designed during World War II to meet US Naval requirements for a carrier-based, single-seat, long-range, high performance dive/torpedo bomber. The Skyraider has been operated by the United States Navy, the U.S. Marine Corps and the United States Air Force, and also saw service with the British Royal Navy, the French Air Force, the Air Force of the Republic of Vietnam, and others.

This handcrafted model is painted in the United States Air Force (USAF) paint scheme and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen with a wealth of detail and makes a great gift for any veteran, aviation enthusiast or history buff.
