Prior to 2014, Delta Airlines’ Fleet of aircraft was the oldest in service. Some of the aircraft, including the McDonnell Douglas MD-80, were as old as 28 years. In 2014, Delta Airlines began a major modernization program ordering 227 Airbus A321-200 including 100 of the A321-200neo (new engine option) aircraft to replace the aging fleet. Interesting fact: It takes almost a month to assemble an A321. Airbus produces a new aircraft every seven hours. Our model is the A321-200neo with the “shark-fin” wingtips.
