Description
B-26B/C Marauder “Flak Bait” Mahogany Model
The B-26 Marauder was a World War II twin-engine medium bomber built by the Glenn L. Martin Company. After entering service with the U.S. Army, the aircraft received the reputation of a “Widowmaker” due to the early models’ high rate of accidents during takeoff and landings. The B-26 became a safer aircraft once crews were re-trained and after aerodynamics modifications, these modifications helped tremendously and the B-26 ended WWII with the lowest loss rate of any USAAF bomber.
This handcrafted model is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen with a wealth of detail and makes a great gift for any veteran, aviation enthusiast or history buff.
