Description
Boeing 737-800 Alaska Airlines Limited Edition Large Mahogany Model
Alaska Airlines operates 61 B737-800s, each with seating for 159 passengers. The longer B737-800, carrying more passengers and using significantly less fuel, replaced earlier McDonnel-Douglas (Boeing) MD-80 aircraft0. Alaska Airlines aircraft are immediately recognizable by the “Eskimo” logo on the tail-usually appearing in black or blue on the white aircraft. The B737-800 is part of Boeing’s Next Generation program, replacing the B737 Classic series. Our model’s livery uses the familiar black-on-white color scheme. Interesting Fact: Alaska modified several B737 to “combis”-combination freight and passenger (freight in the front, passengers in the back. The “freight” often included livestock. We wonder if the cattle ever complained about being treated like people!
