Description
Boeing 757-200 United Airlines (Continental Merger Livery) Limited Edition Large Mahogany Model
The Boeing 757 is a twin-engine development of the popular Boeing 727. More powerful high-bypass ratio engines eliminated the need for the third engine of the 727, and a conventional tail (versus the B727 T-tail) was used that allowed more passengers to be carried in a less tapered fuselage. More than 1,000 B757s were produced between 1982 and 2004, the majority of which were the -200s. Unit list cost of a B757-200 was $65 million. United operates 53 B757-200s. Our model is shown in the current livery, which is adapted from Continental’s scheme at the time of the United-Continental merger in 2010. Interesting fact: Pilots are known to refer the 757 as “the Ferrari of commercial jets.
