Description
DC-3 TWA Mahogany Model
The Douglas DC-3 is an American fixed-wing propeller-driven airliner. The DC-3’s speed and range revolutionized air transport in the 1930s and 1940s. Its lasting impact on the airline industry and World War II make the DC-3 one of the most significant transport aircraft ever made. The military version was designated the C-47 Skytrain, of which more than 10,000 were produced. Many DC-3 / C-47s are still used in all parts of the world.
This specific model is painted as an airliner for Trans World Airlines (TWA). TWA was an American airline that existed from 1925 until it was bought out by and merged with American Airlines in 2001.
