Description
FAA Puerto Rico Terminal – 11/30/23 thru 01/25/24
If you’ll be flying VFR down to Puerto Rico, one “no-go” item that’s critical to your situational awareness and operational safety is the FAA’s Puerto Rico Terminal Area Chart (TAC). TACs utilize a large (1:250,000; 3.43 nm per inch [1.35 nm per cm]) scale that allows them to depict additional landmarks, important altitudes, radio frequencies, and other noteworthy aeronautical data that’s not feasible to include on sectionals. Additionally, several TACs feature VFR Flyway Planning Charts on the reverse side, which present flight paths and altitudes to help low, slow flyers steer clear of larger, faster traffic.
The Puerto Rico TAC provides a detailed portrayal of the airspace around both Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Although most TACs are revised on a 6-month cycle, the Puerto Rico Terminal Area Chart is updated annually. A low-cost, intuitive, full-color cockpit tool for getting the most out of your VFR flights in the islands.
