One Six Right Limited Edition Sam Lyons Print
With One Six Right, world-renowned aviation artist Sam Lyons honors a beloved general aviation (GA) airport, a fascinating documentary film, and an iconic American aircraft all at once. The 17½” x 26″ image portrays the 8000-ft southeast-facing runway of Southern California’s Van Nuys Airport (KVNY), 16R, which is also the name of Brian Terwilliger’s outstanding film on the aerodrome. In fact, Lyons based this illustration off the movie’s poster. Also sharing a starring role with the landing strip is a vivid yellow Piper Cub, a frequent star in many of Lyons’ creations. In addition to his first-rate rendering of the legendary taildragger, Lyons flawlessly reproduces the actual airstrip – complete with its official markings and skid-marked surface! Viewers will also marvel at the beauty of the wild blue yonder in the background, as well as the artist’s attention to detail in the surrounding facility. Even if you’ve never visited the airfield before, after viewing this picture, you’ll sure feel like you have.
This item is available as both an Artist Proof (limited to 40) and a signed & numbered Limited Edition print (limited to 500). Both versions are printed on acid-free paper, utilize first-rate permanent inks, and include a Certificate of Authenticity. An exquisite representation that every area aviator will be pleased to call his/her own.
