Description
Pacific Sunrise Limited Edition Sam Lyons Print
Take a trip back in time – and half a world away – with the help of aviation artist Sam Lyons and his island illustration Pacific Sunrise. In the 18″ x 24″ image, Lyons portrays a gorgeous F4U-1 Corsair in an equally exotic tropical locale complete with a sandy beach, a sunny sky, and a plethora of palm trees. The drawing honors the US Navy’s legendary VF-17, aka the “Jolly Rogers,” who operated the Corsair during WWII as a shore-based unit in the Solomon Islands. Fans of the F4U will notice how flawlessly Lyons replicates all of the aircraft’s distinct characteristics; notably, its trademark inverted gull wings. Viewers will also appreciate the degree of detail the artist devotes to the background greenery. In fact, the atmosphere is so realistic, you can almost feel the warmth of the sun.
This picture is available as a signed & numbered Limited Edition print (limited to 500).
