Stearman Sunrise Limited Edition Sam Lyons Print
Nearly all pilots and aviation art aficionados will agree that there’s no better way to greet the day than by waking to the sight of Sam Lyons’ instantly invigorating Stearman Sunrise. The refreshing 15″ x 30″ illustration showcases a sensational N2S-3 Boeing Stearman facing east as sunlight begins to peek over the distant horizon. The image’s magnificent biplane taildragger is a 1941 model that enjoyed service to the US Navy as a primary training plane. In 2008, the Kaydet, known as “Wonderful Wendy,” was donated to SUN ‘n FUN by Dean Edmunds, and now resides at the organization’s Lakeland, Florida, headquarters. With this rendering, Lyons has done a phenomenal job of portraying the aircraft’s extraordinary attributes, including its eye-catching paint scheme that includes wingtop Navy roundels and a relatively recent SUN ‘n FUN logo on its tail. Admirers will also relish the artist’s exquisite background imagery – including a lifelike partly cloudy sky and an American flag fluttering in the breeze – which further enhances the grandeur of the scene. After a minute of basking in its radiance, you won’t even need your morning cup of coffee.
This picture is available as both an Artist Proof (limited to 40) and a signed & numbered Limited Edition print (limited to 400). Both versions are printed on acid-free paper, utilize first-rate permanent inks, and include a Certificate of Authenticity. Carpe diem, indeed!
