The fact that the Strike Fighter Squadron 31 (VF-31) still uses Felix the Cat in its emblem says something. The squadron, which calls itself the Tomcatters, is proud of its long history.

The Tomcatters are not quite as old as the cartoon cat himself, but is pretty close. Strike Fighter Squadron 31 dates to 1935, making it the second oldest Navy Fighter Attack Squadron today.
