The Last Air Show Limited Edition Sam Lyons Print
Throngs of perennial Oshkosh attendees will no doubt recognize the star performer of Sam Lyons’ vividly hued The Last Air Show. Among the eye-catching assortment of colors that jump off the sheet is legendary airshow performer Debbie Gary’s glistening yellow SIAI Marchetti performing a low-altitude flyby to the delight of a crowd of energized onlookers. The brilliant blue background and trail of airshow smoke further enhance the aircraft’s commanding presence, and the lifelike, enthusiastic spectators are based on real people – among them, EAA founder Paul Poberezny and the artist himself! Also adding to the illustration’s authenticity is the fact that it portrays Gary’s final performance (at AirVenture 2007) before her retirement from the airshow circuit.
