Very few US military aviation groups enjoy the level of notoriety afforded the distinguished 1st American Volunteer Group (AVG) of the Chinese Air Force, aka the “Flying Tigers.” In The Old Exterminator, world-renowned aviation artist Sam Lyons honors the brave members of the legendary WWII fighter group, as well as their well-known aircraft, the P-40 Warhawk. The 15″ x 23″ illustration prominently features one of the Tigers’ trademark Warhawks – characteristic shark nose art and all – parked in a barren, mountainous region of China.
