Nicknamed “the Vanguard,” the squadron safeguards seafaring civilians from what lurks beneath the surface by locating, capturing and/or detonating hazardous naval mines used in warfare. In this 17″ x 25″ illustration, Lyons features one of HM-14’s MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopters that is used in minesweeping ops.
