Van’s RV-8 Limited Edition Large Mahogany Model

The Van’s RV-8 is a hot-rod with wings. Like in a military fighter, the pilot sits in the center underneath a slider canopy. Small and powerful, the RV-8 is capable of 220 mph and popular among aerobatic pilots. It weighs just 1,600 pounds, perfect for all that looping and rolling. They have been sold in kit form by Van’s since 1996.

The RV-8 was a significant step up from its smaller siblings, accommodating larger engines such as the Lycoming IO-360. In addition to the extra horsepower and aerobatic capability, pilots could enjoy additional legroom, headroom, and elbow room, as well as greater useful load. A great gift for the kit builder in your life!
